Who:
A 1/2 day course for industry personnel working with Surface Agreements and the applicable legislation governing the rights of the surface owners and third parties. Upon completion, land agents will have a basic understanding of the legislative law applicable to Surface Agreements and knowledge of where to research the legislation to answer day to day questions. Additionally, we will cover what steps need to be taken to compel access to land in the event that a Surface Agreement cannot be reached.

Tracey Stock, PEng, JD, MBA
Tracey earned a chemical engineering degree from the University of Toronto and practiced reservoir and petroleum engineering in Alberta for several years before the National Energy Program encouraged him to earn a law degree from the University of Calgary. He was called to the Alberta bar in 1989 and is also a member of the bar in Saskatchewan and Ontario. He’s a professional engineer, landman, arbitrator, mediator, chartered manager, and earned advanced degrees in management, economics, and information technology while continuing to work full-time.
Tracey is a part-time Hearing Commissioner for the Alberta Energy Regulator and adjudicates energy applications and regulatory appeals that can only be reviewed by the Alberta Court of Appeal on questions of law or jurisdiction.
