CALEP 2023 Conference – September 10-12, 2023 – Canadian Energy – The Best There is, The Best There Was, the Best That Will Ever Be!!

               We have all spent a lot of time in the past few difficult years being told that our energy industry has to change, that what and how we produce has to change, and we all have dug in deep in our journeys on “the path forward”, trying to reach whatever place it is that everyone thinks our industry has to get to.  But when I was extended the honor of chairing this year’s conference, I sat down with the Dream Team – the five Committee Chairs of our Conference Committee – and we decided that we are done with the journey – with the developments that our industry has come up with as they relate to decarbonization, and re-purposing our energy infrastructure.  We feel that it is time to give ourselves credit for the journey that never ends, to acknowledge that in some ways, we have achieved great steps in our journey forward – that in fact, our industry has always reacted to external pressures and has utilized technology all the way along. 

               Dare I say that instead of apologizing and listening to the critics of our industry, that maybe it is time to stick our chests out and acknowledge the amazing change that we have, always have, and always will strive for!!  So please, take a journey with us and see if you agree – come to the 2023 CALEP Annual Conference on September 9 – 12, back in the beautiful Okanagan Valley and the playground city of Kelowna, and stay with us at the Eldorado Manteo Resort, to celebrate with us at our Conference, aptly themed “Canadian Energy – The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Will Ever Be!”

Craig has put together an impressive slate of speakers, panelists, and keynotes – which I know you will agree with when you have a look at the program. Rob has arranged some fabulous activities, naturally (given our location), involving golf, wine, biking, boating, and great food and wine.  Aaron has been in touch with most, if not all, of our sponsors, outlining the many exciting sponsorship opportunities that our location and venue have created for them.  Brett is busy making sure the whole show works together, and Kim and Bonnie are making sure that the Conference comes off and is successful financially for CALEP!

I am looking forward to seeing you all in Kelowna!!
